Longford's Primary School Skill Challenge is a programme run by Longford Sports Partnership. It is open to all primary schools in Co. Longford. As an Active School, we look forward to taking part in this great initiative on As we return to school
During the skills challenge, each student will perform the skills individually, practicing and performing the key game skills in Athletics, GAA, Rugby and Soccer. QR codes can be scanned to view video demonstration and instructions of each skill. See below to download the Skill Challenges. We will be practicing these in school during our P.E. Lessons along with our Active School Flag Initiative:"Run Around Ireland" Challenge.
Boys and girls from 6th Class have taken on some very important jobs around the school for the coming year. These jobs include putting up our school flags every morning, collecting hot lunches every evening, organising P.E. equipment for teachers and taking charge of all the school digital equipment-ipads, laptops and chromebooks. Well done to these students on taking on these very important and responsible roles.
Here in St. Teresa’s National School, all of our classes have enjoyed Active Schools week. Last week, each class had the opportunity to take part in a number of fun sporting activities. We were lucky enough to have two fun sports days for all of our classes. Over the course of the week, we had Amie Duignan in for dance lessons, Glenn Baskett in for Tag Rugby, Carol Ann in for Gymnastics, and Madeline Doyle in for balance bikes with our Sonas classes. The boys and girls of St. Teresa’s also enjoyed a visit from the ice cream van, not to forget the treat of having Active Homework all week!! We are very grateful for all the teachers who helped organise football, uni hoc, and also handball tournaments over the course of the week. We all had great fun and cannot wait for next year already!!
Rm 23 are really enjoying developing their hurling skills with Kieran. Everyone looks forward to the session each week.
