What an amazing day most of our 5th & 6th class girls had at the Moyne Community School Sports Day! They took part in everything from basketball and relay races to tug of war, boccia and many more fun activities.

We are absolutely thrilled that their hard work paid off and they were awarded the Overall Winners’ Prize!  Bringing home a beautiful plaque and gold medals was a massive achievement. We thank Moyne Community School and Longford Sports Partnerships for such a successful day where everyone got an opportunity to display their strenghts and talents without any pressure. Everyone had a fantastic day.

 Looking Ahead to Secondary School

As some of our girls prepare for their next big adventure in secondary school, this fantastic day reminds us how important sport is.

Continuing with sports in secondary school isn't just about winning medals. It is about:

  • Making new friends
  • Building unstoppable confidence in yourself.
  • Relieving exam stress and clearing your mind.
  • Learning teamwork skills that last a lifetime.
  • Having fun and staying healthy!

Whether you want to try a brand new sport or stick with your favourites, secondary school is the perfect place to keep playing.

Congratulations again to our incredible champions!

What an exciting morning at St. Teresa’s NS! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Earlier this year, our Student Council set out a list of goals, with new athletics singlets right at the top. Thanks to their hard work and the incredible generosity of Kiernan Steel, that goal became a reality! Kiernan Steel    We were delighted to welcome John Kiernan to our school this morning to present the brand-new singlets to our Student Council and Athletics team. A huge thank you also to Stevie Coy (CICO) CICO for helping the students with the singlet design.   We were thrilled to have Ashley Keogh, fresh from winning silver for Ireland at the British & Irish Masters, join us on the day — a real inspiration for our pupils! 🥈🇮🇪   A special thank you as well to Paul McCarthy, who kindly framed a singlet as a beautiful token of appreciation from the school.   We are so lucky to have such a supportive school community, with fantastic parents and local businesses always backing our children.

Boys and girls from 6th Class have taken on some very important jobs around the school for the coming year. These jobs include putting up our school flags every morning, collecting hot lunches every evening, organising P.E. equipment for teachers and taking charge of all the school digital equipment-ipads, laptops and chromebooks. Well done to these students on taking on these very important and responsible roles.
