A Super Evening at the Longford Primary Schools Relay Races in May.

We had an amazing time at the Longford Primary Schools Relay Races held in St. Mel’s College, Longford! The energy was electric and every child gave it their all in some truly thrilling races 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️.   We are absolutely delighted to have finished 3rd place overall — proudly bringing home the Ray Flynn Perpetual Trophy 🏆!   Huge congratulations to every student who took part—you represented our school with great spirit and determination ⭐   Special recognition goes to the following classes and students for their medal-winning performances:   2nd Class Girls – Silver 🥈   2nd Class Boys – Bronze 🥉   Mollie Keating (2nd Class Girls Subs Race) – Silver 🥈   3rd Class Girls – Silver 🥈   5th Class Girls – Silver 🥈   Belle Lin - (5th Class Girls Subs Race) - Gold 🥇   Well done to all our young athletes—you did us proud! 🏆 Victory for Our School at the Longford AC Cross Country! 🏆

  Following on from a fantastic evening in Moyne at the Longford AC Cross Country Race, we are thrilled to share some wonderful news – our school has won The Harry Farrell Perpetual Shield! 🎉   This prestigious award recognises the best overall performance across four races, with points given for each top 20 finisher and team placings.   Today, excitement filled the school as Barry Sheils of Longford AC dropped in to present the shield and hand out team medals to our brilliant athletes.   ✨ Our Team Results: 🥇 Gold – 3rd/4th Class Girls Maia Belton, Ella Skye Belton, Sarah Plunkett, Anne Reilly, Leah Brady & Kate Campbell   🥈 Silver – 5th/6th Class Boys Brion Flanagan, Daniel Campbell, Diarmuid Brady, Fionn Donaldson, John Farrell Hagan & Peter Quinn   🥉 Bronze – 5th/6th Class Girls Ella Finnegan, Mia Donohoe, Emma Quinn, Abbie Quinn, Skye Scanlon & Eireann Lennon   👏 A huge well done to all 39 children who represented our school with such enthusiasm, determination, and pride. 🏃‍♀️🏃 Cross Country Success for St. Teresa’s! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

A massive congratulations to all the boys and girls from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Class who proudly pulled on the Killoe singlet this evening and ran with determination and smiles right around the course.

This was one of our most successful athletics outings yet, with brilliant individual results and a fantastic medal haul!

3rd/4th Class Girls
🥇 Maia Belton – a superb run, overtaking Newtownforbes on the home straight!
👏 Top 12 finishes for her sister Ella Skye and Sarah Plunkett.

3rd/4th Class Boys
🏅 Cian O’Reilly – top 12 finish and a well-earned medal.

5th/6th Class Girls
🥇 Ella Finnegan – stormed home with a steady, controlled race.
🥉 Mia Donohoe – ran a perfectly paced race to secure 3rd.

5th/6th Class Boys
🥉 Brion Flanagan – strong, steady running with a brilliant finish.
👏 Top 12 finishes (and medals) for Daniel Campbell and Diarmuid Brady, both of whom ran like pros.

We left Moyne with a super medal count and now eagerly await the team results!

A huge thanks to Moyne Community School and Longford AC for hosting such a well-run event, and a special mention to Paddy McPhilips (father of Cian) who kindly took time to chat to our children and wish them well.
