Mini-Sevens

1st May 2019

Mini -Sevens

We took part in the Cumann na mBunscol Mini-Sevens competition in Longford Slashers. This competition is very tough as only 7 players can play and it is also age dependent.  It is played at a very fast pace and you have to be very fit to play it. The boys team played very well in the early rounds and were pushed all the way. They played Scoil Mhuire ,Newtownforbes in the Semi-Final. Unfortunately, they did not win but it was also a very important learning curve for us as we prepared for a Championship Final against the same opposition in a couple of weeks later.  Our girls put in terrific performances throughout the day and were deserved winners on the day. Well done to Eimear Igoe who was chosen on behalf of Cumann na mBunscol Longford to represent her school, clun, parish and county in Croke Park during the half time expedition games. This is a great tradition in our school and we hope to continue taking part in the Mini-Sevens competition every year.
