St Teresa's National School, Clontumpher

Welcome

Welcome to St. Teresa’s National School, based in Killoe in Co.Longford.  It is my pleasure to welcome you to our brand new website. We are a rural co-educational primary school with classes from Junior Infants to 6th class. We also have 4 special classes for pupils with autistic spectrum conditions.

Here in St. Teresa’s N.S., we take great pride in providing a welcoming, caring, nurturing and safe environment in our school. We endeavour to provide a holistic education for all pupils and encourage a positive approach to learning. Our dedication to the health and wellbeing of pupils and staff is important to us and we are actively involved in the Health Promoting Schools initiative. We are extremely proud of our pupils and are constantly amazed by their abilities and talents. We will strive to ensure that our school will continue to be a caring, welcoming and community-centred school for many years to come.

We hope that you enjoy visiting our brand new school website and that it is a help to pupils, parents/guardians and all members of the school community. Please feel free to browse our website to see all the wonderful things we do at school and to gain an insight into the work which the pupils are involved in throughout their time with us here.

Kind Regards,

Kevin Mollaghan

Principal

We recently celebrated Internet Safety Week. Local community guard Tracey from Edgeworthstown Garda Station visited all classes to have a chat with them on Cyberbullying and staying safe while online. As a school, every class began their Digital Safety Modules which we will continue into the month of February. Last Tuesday we celebrated Safer Internet Day. We looked at all the positive sides of the Internet from being able to skype friends and relations, to shopping, to helping research for projects. We also looked at the importance of being safe while on the internet, not giving anyone your passwords and not talking to strangers or giving information out. We also stressed the importance of being “nice” to each other. We held a poster art competition on the topic of “Internet Safety”. There was fantastic work created from Junior Infants all the way to 6th class. Our teachers had a very tough job to pick class winners with Mya Lennon from Ms. Brady’s 5th class the overall school winner.

School Christmas Walk

We will have a whole school School Christmas Walk on Thursday 21st of December. As a school, we will walk to our local village Ennybegs using the recently completed new footpath.

We are asking all the children to contribute 2euros as we will be donating money towards a very worthy charity.

We want to see  lots of Christmas jumpers and Christmas hats as we make our way to the local village.

We will finish off the day with a Christmas disco to get us in the mood for our Christmas holidays the following day.
