St Teresa's National School, Clontumpher

School Scor

We have a long tradition in our school for competing in Schools Scór na nÓg. Down through the years we have won prizes for being one of the most consistent schools for entering all categories of Scór. We have also hosted Scór finals in our school.  We are very lucky to have such hard working and talented teachers willing to prepare children for competition.  These children are then already prepared for Scór na nÓg within our club. Down through the years many of our past pupils have won Leinster titles and competed at All Ireland Final stages in Scór na nÓg including as recently as two years ago when our ballad group won a Leinster title and fell short in the All Ireland Final.   Master Colm Harte during his time in St. Teresa’s National school put huge emphasis on the importance of a child experiencing all aspects of school life including the many events school Scór offers. Grainne Fox has been the driving force behind our preparations alongside Ms. Laura Harte, Ms. Deborah Spollen, Ms. Marie Brady and Ms. Cora Kiernan. We are very lucky to have huge help and support from parents in particular Mairead Loughlin and Yvonne Finnegan who puts in a huge amount of time preparing our dancers. We look forward to continuing the proud tradition of Scór in St. Teresa’s National school.
