Mission Statement

St. Teresa’s N.S. is a co-educational, Catholic primary school which strives to provide a well ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, moral, cognitive, emotional, imaginative, aesthetic, social and physical needs of all the children are nurtured. Each child is encouraged to achieve his/her full potential in a spirit of partnership with parents, community and the environment.

General Aims:

  • To enable each child to live a full life as a child;
  • To equip each child to avail of further education;
  • To prepare each child to live a full and useful life as an adult in society.

Specific Aims:

  • To provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all its members and so foster confidence and a sense of self worth;
  • To promote justice, equality of opportunity and fair treatment for all our pupils and self-respect which they deserve;
  • To provide a curriculum which affords each child the highest level of academic attainment consistent with his/her ability;
  • To help each child to think clearly, creatively and critically and to act independently;
  • To foster in each child attitudes leading to spiritual fulfilment and sound moral values;
  • To help each child acquire knowledge, skills and practical abilities and the desire to use them;
  • To develop in each child an awareness of the environment and a respect for it.
